“Feeling a bit under the weather”
Sometimes it’s funny how certain phrases are just used and the circumstances are totally not appropriate. But I guess this only stands out to me, because english is not my native language. An example - sometime I hear the phrase “I’m feeling a bit under the weather” to indicate that somebody feels sick. Now this may make sense if you live, say, up north where it’s cold and snowy all the time, but here in California? Come on … You don’t like the nice sunny weather? Is that why you’re feeling “under” it?
That said - it was really rainy yesterday, so maybe that person is feeling under yesterday’s weather …

Hi Marcel,
Here is a different angle…

I currently live in Sydney, Australia and despite the lovely warm weather all year around I do quite often feel under the weather. I get a migrane when the temperature gets warm… So you can imagine…
I shall move back to Europe (hopefully to the British Isles) where I can enjoy the lovely and refreshing rainy weather all year around.
We’re all different. Takes all kinds to make the world.
Cheers!
