American have always tended to be more hands on, jump in and "get their hands dirty". They make up their mind what is right and wrong and then take action. If this is then "right" by everybodys standard is of course too complicated. You gotta do what you gotta do. In the second world war, I thank them for that attitude, of stepping in and make a big wrong right, but talking about Vietnam and soon the next Vietnam (to be officially named so) Iraq, I wonder if they are not usualy just spoiling for a fight one way or another. AND.... what is the person that stands by and behaves neutrally to a "active" judgemental person that prefers to just do anything instead of being diplomatic? Well, a whimp, a coward and of course, a profiter and a entity of weak morals. Well, morals: Whenever they mention it on a government level, watch out... It will be that countries morals, not much everybody elses. Self interest, nothing more... In the new world, that will try to avoid wars and conflicts at all costs, such a reckless trigger happy gunslinger will get us all in big trouble... The warrior caste, a relict from the past?
