Huge problem with your FeedJumbler script - you need to add a crossdomain.xml file in the root directory that allows all domains to access the rss feeds otherwise you can't access the rss feeds jumbled with your service through flash. It's such a small thing to do but it makes a big difference in how people can use your site.

For more background see www.spellingsociety.org
The story isn't exactly correct in its details. There is no Cambridge study but such a study was conducted at a UK university. The fact that those adept in reading can make sense of these simple anagrams (retain 1st and last letter-scramble the remainder) does say something about the way the mind processes words on the page.
Speed readers are said to memorize word-signs so any spelling change will slow them down. However, scrambled text can be read. Phonetic text can also be read quite easily yet there is strong resistance against using such spellings.
Writing systems that are 85% phonemic or written very close to the way the word is spoken can be learned in 3 months. If we learned the 41 symbols of a dictionary key, English could also be learned by illiterates in 3 months - 2 hrs/day. Once code literate, the complex code used by traditional English is less daunting. In one study, children who learned the dictionary key first were reading traditional text at a 3rd grade level by the end of the year. www.unifon.org.

I LOVE FeedJumbler too ...
My "jumbled" RSS feed also seems to be 4h off :-(

Another small issue is that if the source feed has no content in the tags, then FeedJumbler seems to add a "(none)" text. Is this necessary? Can this text be removed?

Many thanks!

Comment on Why do some web designers still forget to set the background color to something specific? by Damien

Because, it would seem to me, that those who don't set the background color to something specific (in the case of SideStep.com, #FFFFFF) are being nothing more than lazy. If you're going to take the time to design a page, you need to go to the extent of doing it right - whether it's a personal website or a business. But, especially if it's a business! Not doing so makes the business look as though they don't know what they're doing.

I'm being utterly meticulous while redesigning my personal website, simply because I want it to look as good as humanly possible.

I like the concept, but I think we're a long way off from a standard api for social networks. Facebook opened up their platform to some extent and I've read that Linkedin is looking to do the same, but that's still far from a standard API.

I believe there are at least two issues; one is that most SN's want to hold onto their networks. The other is whether or not the public is ready for this level of openness. Didn't Microsoft try passport and fail? I realize that the purpose for passport was for authentication/single sign on but still, it was an attempt to centralize a user's access and identity.

I'll check out FOAF.

Hi There,

The feed jumbler site is great... its really fantastic (and thats an under statement!)

I just wanted to ask how you can add to the rss feed the extra bit to add picture that comes up on news stories that I want to feed through feed jumbler. I tried all ssrts to add it on the end of the RSS feed created but had no luck.

Also how to you embed a code to a web page (i know how to put the rss link in (and that works good on a feed reader), but not the code), do you just copy the java script? (i have no idea about these things!)

Also i must add that i spent hours (days, weeks!) trying and looking through so many serives, but your is the best... there no no doubt about that!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me on this matter.

Every good wish to you
